St. Peter's Athletic Program
There's nothing like being part of a team! St. Peter's athletic program offers kids a fun way to get to know classmates, stay active, and develop athletic skills and build character. Sports offered include football, volleyball, basketball, track, and cross-country.
All sports are organized and facilitated by the STP Athletic Committee a volunteer group that works in cooperation with the Kansas City Parochial League. Kansas City Parochial LeagueSchool sponsored sports are offered through the Parochial League of Kansas City (PLKC). To compete in a sport, participants must be registered through the PLKC website. For more information about 4th-8th grade PLKC sports, including game schedules once available, please visit the PLKC website.

St. Peter's Athletic Committee
The Athletic Committee is a volunteer group that organizes, funds, and promotes parochial league sports. The committee conducts team evaluations, ensures there are coaches, schedules practices and games, supervises the gym, and manages concessions and volunteers. They also schedule several fun social events for adults throughout the year, including the Moms' and Pops' Basketball Tournament, the Moms' Volleyball Tournament, and the Bags Tournament.
If you have an interest in serving on the Athletic Committee, please contact one of the co-directors. New members are typically added in the spring. |

STP Coaches and Volunteers
All adult coaches and volunteers (age 18+) are required to attend the Protecting God's Children workshop, a VIRTUS program offered through the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph. The focus of this free training, led by trained facilitators, is to increase awareness about the nature of child sexual abuse. This is a onetime obligation. Please visit the diocesan website Office of Child and Youth Protection for more details about the program and to register for an upcoming workshop.

Please Volunteer for Gym Duties
The revenue earned from entry fees and concessions funds all of our activities (not just those that take place in the gym). Each family is expected to volunteer for AT LEAST one regular season shift in the Concession Stand or at the Admissions Gate, per parochial league sport, per child, every season. (Example: One volleyball player + one basketball player = one volleyball season shift + one basketball season shift.) A signup link will be sent out at the start of each sport season.
